This week, we had the opportunity to host our friends from Barden Home Builders at our Design Center for a collaborative business development visit. Their visit centered on sharing ideas, refining processes, and learning from one another, especially as they develop their own design center!
Their team came prepared with thoughtful questions about what it takes to build a space like ours, how it transforms the client experience, and the tangible benefits we’ve seen since opening our doors last year. Beyond that, the conversation naturally expanded into the business strategies that have helped both of our teams grow and operate at a higher level.

Our design teams dove deep into conversation, exchanging strategies that elevate the client experience from the very beginning. One key topic was what we call programming. Before any design work begins, we guide homeowners through conversations about how they live in their space, what frustrates them, and what finishes resonate most with them. The goal is simple: walk into the first design meeting already aligned. When we can start that meeting 90% of the way there, it allows us to spend the rest of our time refining, personalizing, and bringing the vision to life in a way that feels exciting for our clients.
At the same time, our project managers connected over ways to improve efficiency and communication in the field. Since both teams use the same online project management platform, the discussion quickly turned into a productive exchange of scheduling strategies that help keep projects running smoothly while keeping clients informed every step of the way. Even the small tips we shared, like how time tracking is used, will make a meaningful impact on how future projects flow.
