A Remodel That Completes the Home

After updating their home themselves over the years, our clients were ready for the final transformation to be completed by someone else. To bring their vision to life, they reached out to us for support. Upstairs, they wanted to reimagine an underutilized space into a nursery and a laundry, while downstairs, they envisioned a kitchen that was modern, functional, and perfectly aligned with their lifestyle.

Reconfiguring the Upstairs

The awkward area upstairs was wide open and hard to use initially. We transformed it into a highly functional space by adding a ventless washer-dryer unit in the closet and building a tall wall to separate the space into two rooms. A laundry room and a cozy nursery. Now our clients and their growing family can utilize every inch of that area.

A New Home Now Realized

Downstairs, we tackled the kitchen, entryway, and a small hearth in the dining room's fireplace area. The entryway was expanded, and the cased openings to both the dining room and kitchen were widened to improve flow and bring more light into the space.

The original kitchen was dated and closed in. It was the perfect kitchen for life on the prairie (and looked like it), but for a modern family, not so much. We modernized it with a layout that spans two rooms, creating ample storage with two-tone cabinets and brushed gold pulls. They discovered a stunning blue fan-shaped accent tile for the backsplash (We used this same tile a few years ago on a different project), which paired beautifully with the rest of the backsplash, a shimmering grey glass tile. The cabinets were topped with a Cambria countertop featuring subtle blue veining—a perfect nod to the homeowners' favorite color.

New appliances, including a refrigerator, beverage fridge, range, and hood, were installed. A tile-look LVT floor was chosen for the kitchen and entryway for durability and style, while a wood-look LVP floor in the dining room created warmth and continuity.

A Home That Feels Complete

Now, the upstairs is practical and inviting, the kitchen is both stylish and functional, and the home flows beautifully together. The homeowners say they finally feel like their house is complete—and perfectly suited for their family.
