We’ve been growing fast this year, and Brent is our latest addition to the team. He’s a Carpenter at Quality Design & Remodel with over 30 years of experience! He’s been working on some major projects already, so you all will get to see a lot of his work firsthand later this year. For now, please take a couple of minutes to learn more about Brent and why he’s all about quality.

Can you tell us about your carpentry career?

“I started over 30 years ago. I got into it because my neighbor had a business and let me help when I was in junior high school school. So, during summer breaks, I got into the construction industry little by little. Then I, I don’t know, kept going with it and enjoyed it a lot. So, in my 30-plus years, I’ve done pretty much everything. Roofing, sheetrock, carpentry… Are you glad you’re not on any roofs anymore? Oh, I wouldn’t dare! I am happy now just doing the type of work Quality has me doing. Its things you can do until your late ages, you know?”

How did you hear about this opportunity?

“I knew Quality was a solid company. I knew the work they did was good. So, I just called Gregg, you know? I didn’t know what he was looking for, and I didn’t know if he was hiring or not, but I just had a conversation with him, and he said he wanted to meet.“

Any advice that’s helped you be successful?

“Always ask questions. I don’t like to make mistakes, but I am human. So, one thing I always do when starting a project or working on one is make sure that I ask questions and don’t assume. By asking the questions, you make sure, you make sure there’s a good vision of what the project from start to finish.”

Any fun things you want people to know about you?

“I grew up on the ocean, so I did a lot of lobstering and saltwater fishing. I actually had a small little lobstering business for a while. Any crazy saltwater fishing stories? Yeah, I mean, I did a lot of offshore tuna fishing. So, probably one of the biggest fish that we caught was a 550-pound yellowfin tuna. It was giant, huge!”
