We are excited to welcome Iliana Schoenbaum as our new Project Designer. Alongside Nicole (Project Designer) and Caroline (Design Consultant), Iliana will help grow the design side of our business. Her skills will be instrumental in helping clients create their dream remodels, ensuring a smooth and inspiring design process from start to finish.
Tell us a little about your professional history.
“I am joining Quality Design & Remodel as the new Project Designer, bringing with me more than 9 years of experience in remodeling. Before, I was a practicing architect in Argentina, giving me a strong background in architectural design and an analytical understanding of structure and space planning. My 6-year Bachelor’s Degree from Argentina and graduate classes from Spain allow me to have a professional membership with the American Institute of Architects. It is great because it helps me keep updated with trends, materials, construction technologies, products, etc.”
How did you find Quality?
“Since I started in remodeling, I have admired remodelers in the area with a passion for design and the highest standards of practice. So, of course, Quality was always at the top of the list because of its fantastic reputation. When I saw this career opportunity available a month ago, I said, ‘Maybe it’s time to do this.’ I did.“
What do you want to accomplish here?
“I want to bring the vision of the clients I work with to life. In order to do that, I become a great listener. When people tell me their stories, their expectations, and their likes, I take that information and combine it with my technical knowledge. This way I can create a space that makes them happy. That’s what I want to accomplish.”
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“My mom was a professor and my dad was an engineer. So they blended art and science together by always telling me to read this and read that. It was the best advice because reading so many different things brings from inside of you so many different ideas. Creativity comes from reading. That’s what I say to my son too.”
Any fun facts you want people to know about you?
“I love to travel. That’s why i moved from Spain to here, haha. I also love art. So when I travel I visit even the smallest of art galleries. I find some of my favorite artwork there. Which gives me a reason to travel back and see it! Now that the weather is getting warmer, I recommend spending a day at Storm King Art Center, it is a magnificent outdoor sculpture museum. I promise you will not want to miss it.“
