A Forever Home Remodeled for a Growing Family

When these clients found the perfect town to raise their family, they knew it was time to remodel their not-so-perfect (yet) home. Their goal was to update the first floor by opening everything up. That meant taking the existing kitchen, back multi-use room, and living/dining rooms, which were enclosed and isolated, and connecting them.

A Custom Kitchen with Luxury at Every Touch

The kitchen was the center of this remodel, with its custom cabinetry from Schrock playing a major role in the design. The cabinet palette featured a soft, creamy (Steam) finish above, a warm, stained (Coastline) maple below, and an earthy color (Retreat) to add contrast in the back room. Thoughtfully integrated details, like a built-in wine rack, compact spice and utensil pull-outs, under-cabinet lighting, and diamond-shaped champagne bronze hardware from Top Knobs, elevated both the form and function of the cabinets.

At the focal point of the kitchen, the oven range wall immediately captures your attention. Studio Flower Deco Dawn accent tiles frame the hood beautifully, enhanced by sleek stainless appliances sourced from Feiden’s and elegant quartz countertops in Calacatta Lavasa from Capital Stone. Above the island, double glass pendants with a subtle gold foil lamination complement the warm champagne bronze tones throughout.

Brighter Spaces and Seamless Transitions

Bringing in natural light was a top priority in this remodel. So we widened the kitchen window to bring in more natural light above the new center-set apron sink and updated the living room window beside the fireplace to match the elevated design.

When refinishing the old floor and installing new hardwood to match, we had to relevel nearly all of the subflooring. Now, every room throughout the first floor seamlessly blends together thanks to the flooring, creating a unified, high-end feel.

The Finishing Touch

The clients are thrilled with the transformation, so much so that the only real problem they have with it is finding artwork that can live up to the beauty of their new home!
