An Accessible Bathroom Remodel
These clients were the very first to go through the design and selections process at our Clifton Park Design Center, which made it a very fun experience for us both! Their project focused on comfort and functionality because they had circumstances that required the bathroom to be accessible, safe, and easy to use, while still reflecting the traditional style they had carried throughout their home.
To honor the home’s traditional look, we introduced a Mouser vanity with inset doors and drawers finished in a deep teal that tied into other colors found throughout the house. Above it, a classic vanity light and a large wall-to-wall mirror created a timeless feel. Brushed nickel fixtures provided a durable and elegant touch. On the floor, hexagon mosaic tile added character, while the shower walls featured matte subway tiles with an undulated surface for subtle movement and texture.
For comfort and functionality, we added several features, including a heated fan to keep the space warm and comfortable. Every handle in the room, from the towel bars to even the toilet paper holder, was designed to serve as a grab bar. Plans were made to accommodate a future bench inside the shower, which is why the hand shower was thoughtfully placed on the opposite wall of the main shower head, ensuring ease of use both now and later. And the tall pre-formed shower base made it easier to step in and out.
This bathroom was completed in record time, one of the fastest projects we’ve delivered, thanks to the streamlined selections process at the Design Center. The finished space seamlessly blends safety, comfort, and tradition, providing clients with peace of mind today and assurance for the future. They were so pleased with the results that they may already be planning their next remodel with us?!
