Bathroom Remodel Inspired by the Color Blue

A Personal Connection and a Vision for Change

This primary bathroom remodel was a special project, as one of our designers had a personal connection to the homeowners—they went to high school with their children! The homeowners were eager to update their outdated primary bathroom, which was filled with uninspired builder-grade materials. They wanted a space that felt traditional yet infused with rich, sophisticated blue tones that reflected their love for the color.

A Bold Shift in Design Direction

During the design phase, the clients initially leaned toward green tones. However, when they discovered the Ocean Blue tile used in this remodel, they instantly fell in love. With blue already being their favorite color, the choice felt natural. The Ocean Blue tile brought the perfect balance of elegance and personality, with lifelike movement and striking dark blue veining that became the highlight of the space.

Thoughtful Layout and Luxurious Features

The remodel featured dual vanities with Calacatta Vincenza Matte countertops, chosen not just for their timeless beauty but also for their ability to hide smudges and spots—an excellent choice for everyday use. A stunning pedestal-style tub was placed front and center under the large window, creating a dramatic focal point. This was further complemented by the Delta Cassidy freestanding tub spout, with matching Delta Cassidy fixtures used throughout the space for a cohesive, elegant touch.

Inside the shower room, the polished version of the Ocean Blue tile was used to add a striking contrast. The shower also featured three thoughtfully placed niches, including a shaving niche near the floor for added functionality. To keep the space looking pristine with minimal maintenance, the glass shower doors were treated with a special coating to resist water spots and buildup.

A Smooth, Enjoyable Process with a Perfect Finish

The homeowners were quick decision-makers, which made the entire design and remodeling process seamless and enjoyable. They loved seeing progress happen daily and were thrilled that the project was completed in time for Christmas. Their new bathroom now perfectly reflects their style—a harmonious blend of tradition and their love for beautiful, bold blue tones, with stunning details that make it truly unique.
