Kitchen Remodel After Flooding Incident
In the wake of an unfortunate flooding incident, the homeowner asked us to design and remodel their Niskayuna home. The renovation embraced every inch of the kitchen, guest bathroom, dining room, and living room, converting these water-damaged spaces into places this longtime homeowner loves.
Before the flooding incident, the kitchen was the heart of the home. To keep that heart, we designed plenty of countertop space for cooking, eating, and sharing memories with family. The farmhouse-style porcelain sink centered in the expansive U-shaped countertops captures this charm. Its spacious, deep basin and classic design provide a functional and aesthetic centerpiece in the kitchen. The stylish range and hood are accented with a herringbone tile backsplash directly across from it. We also installed custom two-tone cabinetry painted bright white and soothing grey. The homeowner’s favorite cabinets are the glass door ones found along the border wall of the family room. Painted bricks complement these cabinets from one of the home’s two fireplaces.
The dining room, living room, and guest bathroom had modest updates. New trim, paint, fixtures, etc. Nevertheless, they now provide a blank canvas for the homeowner to reimagine their home after an unfortunate flooding incident. Overall, this remodel created a series of spaces that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also tailored to the needs and tastes of the homeowner.
