Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
“I’m a Midwestern transplant originally from Kansas. My husband and I moved out here about five years ago, and I’ve been working in design ever since. I have a fine arts degree, and when we relocated, I began translating that creative background into interior design and decorating. What started as designing my own apartment quickly turned into a true passion, and I’ve been immersed in remodeling and design ever since.”
What do you enjoy most about the design and remodeling process?
“I’ve worked on everything from smaller bathrooms to larger kitchens, so it’s hard to pinpoint just one thing. What I truly love is the process itself. Taking a client’s dream and helping turn it into a real, functional space. There’s something incredibly rewarding about listening to what someone envisions and then thoughtfully designing a space that reflects who they are and how they live.”
Do you have a design philosophy or mindset you bring into each project?
“Absolutely. My goal is always to center the design around the client’s personal style. Trends are fun, and I love incorporating modern and contemporary elements, but the most important thing is creating a space that feels authentic to the people living in it. I aim for timeless design, something that won’t feel dated quickly. But I also love it when clients want to have fun and push boundaries. Because it lets me use my fine arts background to play with colors, patterns, and textures. I enjoy layering those elements to create a space that has personality and character.”
How do you uncover a client’s personal style?
“Inspiration photos are always helpful, but I really love being inside a client’s home and observing what’s already there. I’ll ask about artwork, showcase pieces, sculptures, or meaningful items they’ve collected. Those details say so much about someone’s taste. Sometimes it’s a photograph displayed in a unique way or an eclectic piece that reveals who they are and what they’ll like in their remodel.”
What do you like doing outside of work?
“I’m a huge nerd, so I host game nights every week! I also love being outdoors. My husband and I go hiking and camping every year, and I really enjoy spending time in nature. But I also love relaxing at home. I try to have a good balance of high-energy activities and cozy downtime.”
